Illustration Friday Challenge Alone (2) - A poem by Auden reminded me of a Egon drawing which in turn prompted a 2nd Illo for Alone. Here are the lines from the poem (in case you can't read my scribble):

A raged urchin, aimless and alone,
Loitered abut that vacancy; a bird
Flew up to safety from his well aimed stone:
That girls are raped, that two boys knife a third,
were axioms to him, who'd never heard
Of any world where promises were kept
Or one could weep because another wept.

Was Achilles (with his shield) in Clash of The Titans? And a very appropriate classic for Turner.

Nope. It's Perseus in this one. This is so different from modern movies. The acting is more important than being a pretty face. Stop motion animation is usually more fun to watch than some cheesy cgi dinosaur. It seems more...epic. My fav part is Charon, the ferry man who brings the hero across the river Styx. They used a classroom skeleton for the scene, and it worked like a dream. The Medusa was also awesome! I'm gonna shut up now...
